but i'll never get the food pictures.

my instagram buds hashtag the crap outta their photos.

(i mean #foodporn, really?? that's a thing?)

 

and i'll have one of two reactions:

"ugh..now i'm hungry!" <-- this is typical.

or

"ew. why would you eat that?" <-- seriously. EWW to some of you.

 

lucky for me, i don't drink much coffee. because the seattle-area baristas are killing it with their coffee art! and were i to be a coffee drinker, i would likely instagram coffee shots every day. instagram shots...not espresso shots. (courtesy snicker please.)

the only food pics i've posted on instagram are me with a 5 lb. bag of mini-marshmallows (totally forgivable right?!) and a variety of pretty little drinks I snapped before consuming. (maybe less forgivable.)

that is until we met Cupcake Royale's very own SAMI!

and SAMI caught me a unicorn.

 espresso shot is pulled. (that's what they say in the barista biz, right?)

 steamed milk is poured.

friday find · red and a bit of nostalgia

red is my absolute favorite color. 

anything drenched in this hue immediately catches my eye. 

and usually ends up in my home.

seriously.

each room in my home has a million red accent pieces. (although, it's probably not an accent color if nearly every blanket·throw pillow·vase·frame·candle rocks red, right?) it's disgustingly fab.

now that you know this about me, you may not be surprised that my 'thrifting eye' is repeatedly drawn to the hangers offering red surprises.

it's december, my friends.

truly, the most wonderful time of the year!

each holiday season, i do my best to catch SNOWFLAKE LANE at least a few nights while i count down to christmas day. and this weekend was to be my first visit.

was to be.

ladies and gents it was pouring. buckets and boatloads of rain were falling...and after 3 minutes outside, i was soaked through and through. and i decided to pick another night to enjoy the magic.

but.

on the run to my car, i came across these three ladies. and the little girl inside me jumped up and down and squealed and giggled. (while the adult in me pulled out my phone and snapped a couple shots before continuing to the car.)

dear high school girls,

you have my dream job. ice princesses! 

enjoy every single moment.

i love leaves.

like, more than may be socially acceptable.

i love when they're on trees.

and i get super excited when they turn bright red·orange·yellow and 

fall

......fall......

to the ground.

but i become completely obsessed when the fallen leaves dry up and get crunchy.

don't say i didn't worn you if you're walking with me and we come across a street of crunchy leaves. whatever we were saying, i am NO LONGER LISTENING.

i am now in crunch mode.

every step i take..CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH.

these leaves here: they're not quite crunch ready.

but THIS is the very street i live on.

a couple don'ts for this monday morning.

i'm ok with wearing this color. but.

a) if you're an adult, your carnation pink dress should NOT have ruffles and be covered in sparkles.
b) if you're an adult, you should NOT wear clear, kitten-heeled flip flops
c) if you're an adult, you should NOT wear a pretty pink headband that exactly matches your dress.

this oversized 6-year old should have been spotted on the ice skating rink...not the sidewalk.

to be honest, i don't wholly dislike her look. 

but. 

there's no part of me that can argue this outfit is stylish.

however.

it's bright and my eyes are attracted to all the colors.

plus.

her (pajama) pants have an all-over super mario print.

the 8-year old in me thinks she's really cool.

the blogger in me remains bemused.

that outfit should not have left the house.
