friday find · let's go sailing

i peeked in a thrift store during a recent beach weekend with my family.
local tip: WA beach = always a bit cold. bring lots of layers!

and i found this buried treasure.

nautical.
stripes.
oversized.

immediate lovefest!

muse · i live here

it couldn't have been more than 35°F.

i'm not saying that's so unbelievably cold. it just might not be the preferred weather for walking along the pier.

that is, of course, unless the pier you live near looks like this one.

i absolutely love seattle.

when we tell you we have mountains in our backyard.
we mean it.

don't let the rain deter you.

or do.
that's alright.

more for me.

muse · as the summer sun sinks

today marks the end of summer. and as we bid the season goodbye, let's enjoy a moment of silence for the breezy, dreamy clothes we love to wear in the heat.

moment of silence over!

JESS paired her nautical maxi-skirt with over-sized glasses, loose curls and fun, understated jewelry.
the quintessential summer look.

goodbye tank tops.
goodbye maxi skirt.
(wait! no! maxi skirt YOU can stay! just add a great jacket like this one or this!)
goodbye bare feet.
'til next year.

muse · in twin style

it was like a dream.

i turned my head and saw these two about to strut onto the elevator.

so, naturally, like any good stalker, i hopped up and sprinted down the stairs so i could see how fabulous these two were from the front.

and they were. fabulous.
twins!

ANNETTE and FLORINE.
the sweetest ladies you ever did meet...in matching floral prints.

i told these two dolls that i want to be them when i grow up. so i have a few decades to find myself a twin!

of course there was a quick touch up prior to the photo.
Annette (on the left): "I don't let just anyone use my lipstick you know!"

seeking inspiration · his own line

meet KYLE. here's a couple things you should know about him.

1. he's a budding fashion designer with an eye for photography.

2. he designed that hat he's wearing. (yes, he has some for sale too!)

3. the best part about his outfit is his shoes: he took the bottoms off a NIKE LUNAR sneaker and attached them to the top of a SPERRY TOPSIDER.

and wore them.
correction: rocks them often.

as he should!

oh yeah. TRISTAN and KYLE are best buds. too much style between them!

seeking·inspiration·finding fabulous

allow me to indulge myself today.

meet GRANDMA. she's decided she wants to update her style a bit...and so began the mini-fashion-show at the house.

see how she's poppin' her collar?

it's never to late to be truly and utterly fabulous all the time. like my grandma.

love you!

muse·in anticipation of summer

it's coming... sun, summer and the happiest weather you'll ever find! and JEN is the most adorable aesthetician you'll ever, ever find! how fun that this is what she gets to wear to work?

of course the belt is fab, but my favorite part (and what you can't see too well in the picture) is that she's rockin' a gold watch and bangle on the SAME wrist...simple...but so perfect.

muse·in the numbers

a fashionista friend of mine explains that before leaving her house, she makes sure her outfit has between 8 and 12 individual pieces: counting clothes, shoes, accesories, and sometimes even hairstyle.
STEPH is a textbook example of what you SHOULD wear to work!

1 - Black skinnys     2 - Flowy cream tank     3 - Blue blazer
4 - Oversize pearl necklace     5 - Shiny cuff     6 - Gold watch
7 - Simple stud earrings     8 - Braided bangs     9 - Divalicious heels
FABULOUS!

muse·in her closet

throwback 1960s party: breezy floral print dress? check. sexy bangs? check. bright lipstick? check. poofy petticoat? sure, had that in the back of her closet.
the old school prom pose is just a bonus.
