on the way to nyc, the hubby leaned over and asked, "how would you feel if i started wearing heels?" 

whoa.

i think he was joking. (i think.)

i told him i wouldn't like it so much and that was that. the conversation likely moved on to other, equally random musings from my guy. (questions that are really only posed when on a 6-hour journey thousands of feet in the air with a man yet unable to fall asleep.)

fast forward to people watching in times square.

ok, so i'm still not jumping on board, immediately, if the husband decides heels are his new thing. (i still think he was joking!) but THIS guy was WORK.ING.IT!

Swiftly Fifty!

today is my 50th post on be·muse.

and considering i just started this little blogareedoo a few months ago at the end of march...50...yeah, i'm tickled...tickled pink!

this was the first time i walked up to someone completely random with 'hi, i have a style blog and i'd love to take your picture.' i was so nervous! but she was great and so was her blazer...and right after that i ordered business cards so i seemed more legit!

when i was little - like 8, 9, 10 years old - i rocked overalls. with one strap undone because i was "cool". (ha. not so much.) but this look is cool, stylish and totally her own. i love a true individual.

i've tried not to highlight teenagers on the blog because so often they haven't found their own style voice yet: they wear what everyone is wearing. (anyone else disgusted with the uber short shorts with the pockets hanging out the bottom from this summer?) but i was diggin' this look...so i broke my own rule.

so this was a BEmuse post, not a muse. but meeting her was so entertaining: i easily told 20 friends about our conversation before even posting her picture! even thinking back on our interaction has me smiling right now.

a nice, tight, round belly is the most beautiful curve a woman can sport.  so when you're preggers, do as TRISH does.

wear tight tops.

wear bright colors.

and above all: wear a design that highlights·hugs every inch of your roundness.

do you know what pinterest and lookbook.nu and all these different style blogs do?

make me realize that, while i love my clothes, i do have some duds that can be a lot more fabulous.

so here goes the plan for august.

every. single. item.

every so often you should take the time to reevaluate your closet and make sure you're staying true to yourself: both in individual style and the way things fits your body.

more than anything be honest in this: when you wear it, do you feel absolutely great?  if yes, it's a keeper. if no, do better! (either find something else that makes you feel great or get in better shape so you feel great!)

i want my closet to be:

fierce. adjective. being bold, especially relating to fashion, clothes, hair, makeup

last week i went to the grand opening of SELL YOUR SOLE CONSIGNMENT BOUTIQUE and met someone who has done exactly what so many of us want to do: she followed her heart (or SOLE in this case) and opened up a fabulous shop.

at the opening, we sipped, munched, shopped and i scored a sexy tuxedo-style shirt which you know i'll be rockin' at the next fab event!

i can't help but be inspired by anyone who is doing what they love.  and NATALIA is making all of us look great in the process.

last night i got dolled up, grabbed a girlfriend and sped off to the DOLCE VITA x SOLESTRUCK shoe collection preview event.  walked in to a party where the models were rockin' DV8's new line and mingling with other party-goers.

there were some hot shoes, sure, but you know i was more interested in everyday people rockin' their own personal style.

and i found some true hotness...so stay tuned...

the old school prom pose is just a bonus.

there is something so incredibly sexy about a woman completely in her own element and unconcerned about anyone·anything else (especially while wearing a bridesmaid dress she wasn't so sure about in the first place)
